Statistics Denmark has just published the latest developments in the gross national product (GNP).
After four quarters of constant economic recession, the numbers show that the GNP increased by 0.6 percent in the third quarter of 2009, meaning that we are officially no longer in a recession.
Chief economist with Danske Bank, Steen Bocian, calls the new numbers "a very pleasant surprise".
- With a positive growth in the third quarter, we have formally put the economic recession behind us, says Steen Bocian.
