Many small and medium-sized companies have to struggle just to survive. The obvious cause is that salaries in Denmark are too high, according to Peter Schütze - managing director of Nordea Denmark.

- I really don't want to monopolize industrial policy, but it is obvious to anyone that we are dismantling production in Denmark, Peter Schütze tells financial daily Børsen.

The executive adds:

- Production is a difficult thing, and a lot of the companies that I talk to are relocating their production to countries near us, like Hungary, Poland, even Germany. But for a company with 30 employees producing something as a subcontractor to a larger company, it is very difficult to relocate to Poland.

Peter Schütze wants more public debate over what is to be done, and value-creation in Denmark may be accomplished.
